Week 2 focused on accelerating domain authority through targeted backlink outreach. We contacted 30 prospects across resource pages, broken links, and guest post openings. Here is what happened.

Week 2 Objective

After Week 1's social probe identified SEO as the highest-potential channel, Week 2 focused on accelerating domain authority through targeted backlink outreach. Our goal: secure 5 dofollow backlinks from domains with DA 40+ within 14 days.

Outreach Strategy

We used GenGrowth's backlink opportunity scanner to identify 30 candidate pages across three categories:

  • Resource pages (12 targets) —Curated lists of SaaS tools or growth resources
  • Broken link opportunities (10 targets) —Pages linking to defunct competitors
  • Guest post openings (8 targets) —Blogs accepting contributor articles

Each outreach email was personalized with a specific value proposition —we offered original data, unique frameworks, or replacement content for broken links.

Results

Of 30 outreach emails sent:

  • Response rate: 23% (7 replies)
  • Backlinks secured: 4 (3 resource pages, 1 guest post)
  • Average DA of linking domains: 52
  • Pending responses: 3 (follow-up scheduled)

Impact on Rankings

Within 10 days of link acquisition, our pillar page "Growth Automation Guide" moved from position 18 to position 9 for its primary keyword. The optimization engine flagged this as a high-confidence signal and recommended expanding the associated content cluster.
